==Themes and mechanics== Phyrexia: All Will Be One sees the return of Poison counters and the Phyrexian-flavored Proliferate mechanic. To give a different proliferation gameplay experience to the -1/-1 counters from Scars of Mirrodin block and the +1/+1 counters in War of the Spark, neither of these counters are present, and instead oil counters are used. This would be the first set since the simplified Portal sets to not use stat-changing counters and is the only premier set or equivalent to not have any. The new Toxic mechanic is a reworking of Poisonous. Instead of giving poison counter as a triggered ability, this is more like Lifelink adding the counters instantaneously (Players dealt combat damage by this creature also get N poison counters). The Corrupted ability word is also new. Corrupted is a Threshold variant for abilities that can only be activated or triggered if an opponent has three or more poison counters. A keyword ability on equipment is For Mirrodin! (When this Equipment enters the battlefield, create a 2/2 red Rebel creature token, then attach this to it). This is similar to Living weapon. Battle cry and Phyrexian mana are featured as callbacks to the last visit to New Phyrexia. However, other than for compleated, Phyrexian mana is present only as a cost to activate abilities. Five of the ten planeswalkers printed in the set are compleated. The set sees the promotion of two mechanics, flashback and affinity, to deciduous status. ===Card types=== The set introduces the Mite creature type. Planeswalkers are featured in both Mythic Rare and Rare, with ten total in the set. Rebel is seen for the first time as a creature type since the Time Spiral block. Four cards with the type represent the small number of Mirran survivors (although Equipment cards with the For Mirrodin! keyword create them as well.) On the other hand, more than 120 cards have the Phyrexian creature type. Sphere is a new land type, associated with the Spheres of New Phyrexia. <c>Atraxa, Grand Unifier</c> lists the new card type Battle, as a teaser for an upcoming set. ===Counter types=== Phyrexia: All Will Be One introduces Oil counters. ===Limited archetypes=== *WU: Artifacts *UB: Proliferate Control *BR: Oil counters and Sacrifice *RG: Midrange Oil counters *GW: Toxic Aggro *WB: Corrupted *UR: Oil counters + noncreature spells *BG: Poison victory *RW: For Mirrodin! Equipment *GU: Proliferate and Poison
