Mongooses are especially noted for their ability to kill cobras and other [[poison|venomous]] [[snake]]s, but this hasn't been translated into the cards yet. They usually have [[shroud]], and in one instance [[protection]] from [[blue]]. The first creature to bear the type was <c>Blurred Mongoose</c> from ''[[Invasion]]'', though <c>Karoo Meerkat</c> from ''[[Mirage]]'' was issued errata to become a subtype Mongoose as well (instead of ''Meerkat''). The third and last printed card was <c>Nimble Mongoose</c> from ''[[Odyssey]]''. <c>Aspect of Mongoose</c> is an [[Aura]] from ''[[Time Spiral]]'' that grants [[Shroud]]. {{Creature types|Races}}
