Template:Infobox type Yeti is a predominant red and green creature type used for ape-like humanoids living in cold mountainous regions.
Description[edit]
Yetis are mainly connected to the Ice Age of Dominarian Terisiare but are also seen near the Temur Frontier on Tarkir and on the frigid mountains of Kaldheim. The scientific community generally regards the Yeti or Abominable Snowman as a legend, given the lack of conclusive evidence for his existence. All Yetis cost at least 4-mana and are 3/3s or larger, save the variable-power <c>Sylvan Yeti</c>.
The first creature to bear the type was <c>Mountain Yeti</c> in Legends. The first legendary Yeti was <c>Isu the Abominable</c> in Jumpstart 2022.
Storyline[edit]
Dominaria[edit]
Yetis, despite their size, evolved into the stealthiest creatures in the arctic north of Terisiare.[1] Their feet are built for silent movement and they have keen eyes and thick fur. Their hide is colored to camouflage against their territory's rock and snow. They are intelligent enough to use simple tools. Ohran yetis are known to use giant icicles from their cave homes as weapons.
Trivia[edit]
- <c>Drelnoch</c> — The first blue Yeti Mutant.
- <c set="ICE" number="" title="Karplusan Yeti" artist="">Karplusan Yeti</c> (Ice Age) — Largely unnoticed in the art of its card.[2]
- <c>Sylvan Yeti</c>— The only Yeti not associated with winter conditions.
- In the Grand Creature Type Update the creature types Wiitigo (<c>Wiitigo</c>) and Strider (<c>Shambling Strider</c>) were changed into Yeti.
