Template:Infobox type Beholder is a creature type used for a test card that depicts an iconic D&D creature. Its appearance is that of a floating orb of flesh with a large mouth, a single central eye, and many smaller eyestalks on top with powerful magical abilities.
As a creature type, Beholder was first used on the Mystery Booster card <c>Underdark Beholder</c>.[1] This was a Dungeons & Dragons crossover that was initially blocked by Hasbro.[2] Another beholder was depicted on the Heroes of the Realm celebration card <c>Kharis & the Beholder</c>, which is also D&D related.
Beholder was introduced as as a black-bordered creature type in the full crossover set Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms with <c>Baleful Beholder</c>.
