Template:Infobox type Monkey is a creature type used for cards depicting relatively small primates usually having a flat, hairless face. Unlike the larger apes, monkeys usually do have tails and predominantly live in trees.
History[edit]
The first creatures to bear the type were <c>Tree Monkey</c> from Portal Second Age and <c>Zodiac Monkey</c> from: Portal Three Kingdoms. These were changed to Apes in the Ninth Edition Core Set, although this was scientifically incorrect.
The change was reversed when <c>Wily Bandar</c> was introduced in Kaladesh. At the same time <c>Ravenous Baboons</c> and the tokens of <c>Monkey Cage</c> had their creature type changed, as well.[1][2][3]

Silver-bordered[edit]
- Silver-bordered cards referring to monkeys (<c>Tainted Monkey</c> and <c>Monkey Monkey Monkey</c>) were printed with the subtype ape but now have the Monkey subtype in Oracle as well.
