The Questing Beast is a legendary sapient beast from Eldraine.

History[edit]

The Questing Beast is a legendary sapient beast with both cat-like and reptilian-like features, who acts to choose candidates for the High Quest and gifts them with magical blessed swords.[1][2] It has three long necks and three faces, one angry, one solemn, and one laughing.

Rankle and Mags once made it cry.[3]

Trivia[edit]

  • The Questing Beast is a reference to the Arthurian legendary beast of the same name. There are six abilities to reflect two abilities per head.
  • The 47-word-long rules text of <c>Questing Beast</c> started many comparisons, jokingly or otherwise, based on the increasing complexity and power of the game during the Throne of Eldraine era.
  • The card was referenced at the Minneopolis Unknown Event on a test card called <c>Quest Compleated Beast</c>, a Phyrexian version of it. In a slightly less overt reference, <c>Rampaging Raptor</c> also is a 2MM 4/4 with haste, evasion, and damage-copying ability.
